G'Day!

Welcome to our blog! It's our way both of keeping a record of getting to know our new home, and also of keeping everyone at home in touch with what we are doing.

Family photos

We've taken some lovely photos recently with the family - many when we spent a week up North with Lucy, Mike, Katy, Emily, James, Samantha, Samuel, Lewis and Mum and Dad. Others were taken at the family party but there wasn't room to put them on that page. So here they are!

We were so delighted that so many of our family came to see us before we left - 50 in fact for Sunday lunch. Everyone seemed to have a lovely time and it was great to see some people we had not seen for some time - especially my Uncle Maurice, whose 80th birthday party we missed when we were visiting Sydney in November. Ages ranged from 93 (Uncle Jack) to under 2 years, so all generations were represented!

Lots of photos were taken - and here they are. With thanks to everyone who came!

Leaving Party, Enfield, Feb 24th 2007

So here it is - the first of our fond farewells.....a visit to all Andrew's oldest friends with their wives and families. The first time for some time I think that we had all been together, and it was wonderful to catch up with everyone. The venue and arrangements were made by Alex, which explained why the wives and children found themselves partaking of the pub then a curry for sunday lunch! However, a great time was had by all, and the children all seemed to enjoy the food and so many children to play with. It was very interesting to see such a spread in the children's ages from a group of men who are pretty much the same age - with the eldest at 16 to the youngest under 2! We are very much hoping to see some of you all in Sydney!

George and Oliver ponder life

We took George and his friends to Laserquest in Southampton for an hour of running riot with guns....not very pc I know, but tremendous fun for them, and surprisingly relaxing for us! It was great to see them all together, but also rather sad. George has had pretty much the same group of friends literally since he was a baby, and he is still very close to them all. And of course - as a result - we are also close to them, having seen them grow up. I hope we will see some of them in Sydney, and of course, we will make sure we keep up with them.

Just for the record - the children who came were

Oliver Perrett, Joe Steel, Adam Tupper, Conor Bailey, Oliver Troke, Jamie Troke, Thomas Kydd-Coutts, Colm Locke, and we were really pleased also have our nephew Samuel with us for the weekend as well, so he was able to join in. And of course - how could I forget! - Anna, Granny and Grandad too!

So enjoy the pics!
